Volkswagen Ad, Matted - 1960's - "See? No Springs"...

Description

Original magazine ad from one of the most successful - and unique advertisers of all time...Volkswagen.  This is an original ad page from a 1960's issue of Reader's Digest magazine.  I don't know the exact month and year that this ad appeared.  As with many of the VW Bugs, its very hard to determine the year - especially on this one with lots of parts missing!
It has been mounted on 3/16" white foam core, and matted.
The mat has a very unique gray swirl look - almost like granite.
The ad is original - it's about 50 years old.  The mat is new, and recently cut to fit this ad.
Overall size is 8" x 10".  It will fit a standard frame.  The mat width is 1 1/2".  Actual ad size showing is 5" x 7".
Excellent ad copy:
"VWs have torsion bars instead of springs.  They run horizontally between the wheels.  This is how they work.  Take a 3-foot steel ruler.  Hold one end in each hand and twist.  Let one end go.  It bounces right back to shape, without going boing, boing, boing.  The same thing happens when you drive a Volkswagen over a bump.  You sit and wait for the next bounce, only it never comes.  The Volkswagen has separate torsion bars on all 4 wheels.  So each wheel feels its own separate way over the road (and spends more time in touch with the road).  You get a firm, solid ride, with exceptionally accurate control.  Torsion bars alone aren't unique.  Nor is 4-wheel independent suspension.  But the combination of both systems is extremely rare.  You can count all the sedans that have it on one finger.
I'll place the matted ad in a plastic sleeve and secure to another piece of foam board for protection.  Mailing will be by USPS First Class in a bubble envelope.  I'll mail same day, or next day after PayPal payment is made.
