Description
This auction offers a Very Collectable Pair of early 21th Century Decoys. These Upper Chesapeake Bay Canvasbacks were made in North East, MD and are about 20 years old.This rare pair of hand chopped decoys made by Allen Purner are in Mint Original Condition.
These are Hand Chopped Solid Body Decoys. They have Nicely Shaped Rounded Backs and Paddle Tails.
They both have Thick Dry Original Paint. They have Painted Feathering on their Backs and Tails along with Detailed Painted Wing Patterns.
Their Alert Forward-looking Heads are Very Nicely Carved. They have Boldly Carved Beak/Face Separation and their Bills have Carved Nostrils. They have Allen's Painted Eyes with his telltale White Dot.
Both Decoys Retain Original Ring and Staple and Flat Lead Pad Ballast Weight Rigging – Both Have Original Makers Note on Lead Pad Bottom = “Allen W Purner Oct 2001” in electropen.
